Seeding and Sodding

We plant grass seed and lay sod for homes and businesses in Middletown, Franklin, Hamilton and nearby towns.

A lawn that comes in thin or patchy usually has a ground problem before it has a grass problem. Compacted soil, rocks and debris, low spots and poor grade all keep new grass from taking. We look at the ground first, then recommend seed or sod based on your yard, your timeline and your budget. Seed costs less and works well on larger areas, but it needs time and regular watering to fill in. Sod gives you a finished lawn right away and suits smaller yards, slopes and spots where you want cover quickly. Either way, the grass needs water after we leave, and we will tell you what to expect. We work on residential and commercial properties. We are a family-owned, locally owned and insured company based in Middletown, and we will walk the area with you before we plan the work.

Common questions

Should I choose seed or sod?

Seed costs less and suits larger areas, but it takes longer to establish. Sod gives you cover right away and works well on smaller yards and slopes. We will look at your yard and recommend one.

Do I need to water new grass?

Yes. New seed and new sod both need regular watering until they root in. We will explain how often for your yard and the time of year.

Do you prepare the ground first?

Yes. Grass takes best on level, clear ground, so we grade, clear rock and debris, and add topsoil where needed before planting.
